Southern Leather Works builds custom leather welding hoods one at a time — hand-built gear made to take the heat of every shift and look good doing it. From our double chopped Tiger welding hoods and Jackson HSL-2 builds to carbon fiber pancakes and old-school Sugar Scoops, every hood that leaves our shop is finished by hand in premium leather, suede, or genuine Pirarucu exotic leather imported from Brazil.

We started with a simple idea: welders shouldn't have to choose between a hood that performs and a hood that stands out. So we build both into every piece — proven shells welders already trust, dressed in real leather and custom paint, paired with our signature SLW Shade 11 Auto Lens engineered for MIG, TIG, and Stick across high and low amperage.

It doesn't stop at hoods. We craft heavy-duty American leather belts, glove lanyards, elastic headgear replacements, and DIY leather refurb kits so you can bring your own old hood back to life instead of throwing away good hardware.
